MRI Done. Seen Segment Sacralized, Nonmobile. Lateral Right Sided Bulging. Explanation?
What does it mean on my MRI report stating the following: Transitional L5 segment, sacralized and nonmobile, with the following findings: 1. Central annular at L4-5, indenting the thecal sac and contacting both L5 nerve roots. There is also lateral right-sdied bulging of the L4-5 disc, with small accompanying spurs. The bulging disc contacts the right L4 ganglion laterally. Thank you
Your mri scan of lower back shows following results:
your intervertebral disc(a cushion between two bones) has slipped outside the bony margins and now applying pressure on the nerves that come out of those bones
Sciatica meaning the most important nerve arising from L4-L5-S1+there is a system of controlling that nerve(ganglion, is being compressed by that disc , causing pain in buttock and back of the leg
Spurs are the bony nails arising from those vertebra ...age related problem
so if you have urinary or bowel problems with stiffness in legs and pain not subsided by pain killers , you will need to remove that disc and the operation is known as laminectomy
And the disease you are having is known as disc herniation
hope this helps
