Mammogram And Ultrasound Revealed Lump In Breast. Have Swollen Lymph Nodes And Pain. Biopsy? Could It Be Benign?

I have recieved my mammogram and ultrasound results which revealed a second lump in the other breast. The painful protruding lump in the right breast looked smooth and round on the ultrasound, however the second lump was irregular shape with jagged edges. I still have swollen lymph nodes and pain in the right arm. I had a core needle biopsy on each breast and am now waiting for those results. The biopsy was painful on the right breast and needed aditional freezing for the second and third sample because it is close to the chest wall. The lump did not decrease in size like I had hoped following the biopsy. If it were a cyst would it have drained and decreased in size when the biopsy was done? Still leaning towards cancer? Or could it be a benign cyst?

Hello
welcome to healharemagic
It is good that you underwent biopsy for breast lump which will give you definite diagnosis regarding nature of lump in few days.
If the lump was smooth walled it is more likely to be fibroadenoma and they do not decrease in size after biopsy. So you an't conclude that it is cancer just because it did not decrease in size after biopsy.
Wish you good luck
