Mass Beneath The Skin Under The Scrotum, Painful While Walking. History Of Having Boils At Beltline, Groin. Thoughts?
Under my scrotum, I have a mass beneath the skin. It started a couple days ago but was not painful. It has grown somewhat and is now close to my testicles. It is hard but doesn't hurt only when I walk. I thought it was a boil at first, I am prone to getting boils at my beltline and in my groin area on the inside of my legs. What does it sound like it can be?
I would like to know your age and whether you are having Diabetes Mallitus. These things have some relevance to your problem.
It may be due an abscess formation as a sequele following the episode of recurrent boils. This is due a pus forming organism or bacteria. If the treatment for boils is inadequate ad it had not totally eradicated the bacteria, it would likely to produce similar lesions elsewhere in the body. It is better to have a culture and sensitivity test from the pus (boils or abscess), and according to the outcome of the result the appropriate antibiotics to be chosen and continue in correct dosage schedule for aweek or 10 days will assure a total cure without any relapse. Consult your physician and get well soon. Dr S.Murugan
