Massive Heart Attack, Stopped Heart For About 8 Minutes Before Revival. History Of Inserted Stents. Prognosis?

An employee was having dinner with his wife last night, who had previously had a few stents inserted (last year).
Sorry, don't know too much at this stage but she suffered a massive heart attack during dinner, and I believe her heart stopped beating for around 8 minutes before paramedics arrived and revived her. I think she is in ICU now but do not know condition. what would be a typical prognosis? brain damage?

Hi!

I read your question and would like to say that prognosis is reserved. This is because you say that she stay for about 8 minutes with cardiac arrest with out any specialised help.

If she has stayed for so long without breathing or/and cardiac circulation she will probably had some brain demage.
