Meaning Of Uterine Biopsy Showing Inactive Endometrium With Progestin Effect?

I just had a second uterine biopsy. The first came back as glandular hyperplasia w/o atypia. The second one just came back as inactive endometrium with progestin effect and under comments it asks it this patient is one exogenous hormones. I am 46, do not take any hormones and am curious as to what this means.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Inactive endometrium suggests that you are approaching menopause and the level of estrogens are low.
Presence of progestin effect on the endometrium suggests that level of progesterone is high in blood.
However, you need to get some more investigations done to know the cause of the endometrial atrophy and progestin effect.
Blood levels of estrogen and progesterone needs to be done.
You need to consult your gynecologist for relevant investigations and further management.

Thanks and take care
