I have been told my inr is 5.2 is this serious with mechanical valves

Your Dr or surgeon should advise you what range your INR should be within. Regular blood tests should be done to keep an eye on this. It should be in your anticoagulant therapy record book (yellow book) My range is between 2 and 3 everybody is different.
