Medical Advice On Using Thrush Cream

my girlfriend has just had a sexual health test which was clear and is pretty sure she has thrush at the moment and has passed it on to me because when i peal my foreskin back it feels like its ripping, and now and again it stings. Is it likely i could have thrush and if its not would it be very bad for me to use the thrush cream even though the net says i can?
