Medication For Hair Loss When On Minoxidil?

Hy doctors, m 22 year Old male, I m using mioxin 5% along with massage of pumpkin seeds oil from last year at first the result was very outstanding within 3 -4 months i had covered 70 % of baldness area, but last 3 months i've noticed that again m loosing my hairs, i didn't stop using minoxidil 5%, Plz suggest me what i do now to gain my hairs back,

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

Hair loss in your case seems to be because of Androgenetic alopecia.

Apart from using minoxidil 5%, Finesteride 1mg orally should be taken as well along with 25 ketoconazole for scalp wash.

Oil has no role in hair regrowth and I dont recommend it to my patients. Oil has some moisturizing benefits for scalp hair and if you desire to use it, you can use it for just 2 - 3 hours before shampoo.

Minoxidil should be used on a clean dry scalp(free from oil) because minoxidil comes in an alcohol base, thus cannot be absorbed through oil film on scalp.
