Hi, i am 8 weeks pregnant with my first pregnancy and now i have got severe hives i tried all home remedies and calming lotion but nothing helps. I want to know which medicine can be taken for hives at this time . I had hives 2 years back it cured by itself but this is extreme hives plz help .
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. Hives can be seen frequently in pregnancy. To get relief from it you can follow measures like: Using luke warm water for bath, avoiding hot shower baths. Mild soap or shower gel to be used, it should be rinsed well and towel off lightly. Then apply cream containing vitamin E and alovera like ‘Elovera cream’. You should not scratch. You have to choose loose cotton clothes. Avoid going out in hot weather. Excessive weight gain to be avoided. If hives persist even after doing these, please consult your doctor, get evaluated and check for liver function tests once. Take care.
