Mild Cramping, Started Birth Control Month Ago. Anything To Worry?

Hi,
I am experiencing very mild cramping. I started my birth control back up about a month ago and every so often I experience cramping in my lower abdomen. Also, it does sometimes switch to the other side but for the most part it sticks to one side. I asked my boss and she said probably due to ovulation but I am worried it's a cyst or tumor and don't have insurance yet to get it checked out. Does this seem like something I should worry about? I was on this birth control when I was around 17 and stopped it around 19, but I was not having cramping. I am 21, is this something I should worry about?

Hello ma'am.

Abdominal cramps are one of the commonly encountered side effrcts of birth control. But this cannot be taken for granted and should be investigated. I would advice you to speak to your boss to help you out with medical insurance and go ahead with at least an abdominal and pelvic ultrasound scan.

Hope this helps.

Take care.
