Mild Discomfort In Eye Socket, Pain Behind Eyeball, Strange Sensation. No Other Symptoms. Possible Reason?

Hi Dr, Meyer...

I will describe my issue to you in really basic terms. A little over a week ago I began feeling a mild discomfort in my eye sockets... the kind of dull pain you get when you have a cold & fever. This week it's just been my left eye. I have a mild pain behind my eyelid in the anterior part of my eyeball, My vision is excellent, thank God. but I've been experiencing this strange sensation this week. The only way I can describe the sensation is like when you rub your eye.... that brief vision and brightened vision sensation left behind is what I have. I can see just fine, but as of today I now feel like the brightness in this eye has been turned up. I have had no other symptoms... no nausea, no dizziness, no blurriness, no headaches, no severe pain, no redness, no loss of vision or change in eye sight... just the brightness as of the past 24 hours. And I stress that the pain in the anterior part of my eye is very mild discomfort that feels more like mild strain,

I so truly appreciate any advice Dr. Meyer!! :)

Greetings of the day

It probably is due to strain of eye muscle which could be because of prolonged focusing at close objects while reading and writing. Use of artificial tear drops and eye exercise will definitely help.
Take care
