Mild Fever, On Antibiotics. Widal Lab Report Shows S Typhi Antigen H Positive 1:80dls. Explain
I have an widal lab report saying below things,is it anything serious I have mild fever of 99.5 degree fro past one week and taking antibiotic "microflax"
I have gone through the investigation report as mentioned in your post. A titer of 1/80 is very less & not considered significant. Widal test is considered positive if antigen titer is more than 1:160 in presence of active infection. Moreover, a single Widal test is usually not significant. And a repeat test has to be done for comparison of the values to determine the presence of infection & success of the treatment. Based on the above mentioned facts, you are not having Typhoid. The fever you are having can be attributed to viral infection. Kindly continue the medications as advised by your Doctor.
There is no need to worry, you will be fine. Wishing you a good health. Take care.
