Missed To Take Pill. Had Protected Sex. Now Missed Period. Pregnancy Test Is Negative. Pregnant?

Hi i have a question related to my pill and cycle condition . My last period came APRIL 17 thru 22nd , it usually comes 6 or seven days , after my period i started taking Sprintec birth control pills on 27th of April and still taking until now BUT April29 i missed take a pill and day after i took two pills together , on 28 my Exboyfriend came from trip and we were having sex for 6 days without back up birth control which is condoms and etc, right now i missing my period it supposed to came May 12 , im so scared and had a pregnancy test yesterday it says i'm not pregnant but i think still it's too early test tells pregnant , please help me , im really suffering and stressing

Hello

Missing a pill on a single day and taking two pills next day is accepted to continue the oral pills as a method of contraception without requiring any back up method.

But you have a confusion in starting the pills.It has to be started on day 5 of the cycle considering the first day of bleeding as the first day of the cycle. You have stated the pill several days later which makes the pills ineffective in this cycle. Pregnancy test can be conclusive.

If you took birth control pill regularly on scheduled time, then it gives protection near about 99.9%. Taking two pills following one missed pill is quite good thinking and acceptable widely. Here, risk of being pregnant is quite less.

You can confirm your pregnancy status by doing one blood test for beta-hcg. Early pregnancy test is less significant.

Try to avoid stress, take healthy diet & sound sleep. Good luck.
