Most Times When My Allergies Act Up Due To Prolonged

Most times when my allergies act up due to prolonged exposure to animals that I'm allergic to, or dust that makes my allergies go nuts, I get these REALLY painful sores in my nose. They start out small, but get swollen, very painful, and have a bright yellow crust on them. Usually last about a week.... what is this and do I need to go see a doctor or can I treat this on my own at home?
