Muffled Sensation, Ringing In Ears, Cold. Taking Ibuprofen. Medical Attention Required?
I have been suffering with a muffled, painful, ringing ear for a few days, along with a cold . I have been steaming and taking ibuprofen , but have had no relief. I went to the doctor today (she was not very interested), she looked in the ear but sad there was nothing wrong with it. I was offered no more advice and was wondering if I should wait it out or go back?
Tinnitus (Ringing ear) is not unusual in cold, as inner ear and pharynx are connected to each other via a Eustachian tube so blockage due to any inflammation can disturb the pressure inside ear.Generally Cold is self limiting viral infection that do not need medication (antibiotics) unless it is overlapped by bacterial infection.
follow these steps to get rid of Cold
