Multiple Fluttering Pains Under Rib Cage, Gasping For Air. No Asthma. What Could Be The Reason?
Good evening,
I am a mum of 44 yrs of age with 3 children 9, 5 and 2. Just recently I have had several fluttering pains under my right side rib cage. Today for the first time I gasped for air, I am not asthmatic and usually in good health, I have booked an apt to see my gp in a weeks time, but am hoping you can give some immediate answers.
Hello there! Right side rib cage pain with women of your age is almost always a gall bladder issue. Do you feel nauseous after taking fatty meal. does the pain radiates to tip of the shoulder, Do you feel more pain on taking deeper breaths? Do you have any Reflux o gastric contents, If answer to any of these questions are yes then i am afraid these might be calculus of gallbladder or pancrease. Ultrasound abdomen with Serum amylase and lipases and urinary amylases would be a good start. Mean while use some antispasmodics like phloroglucinols and some PPi like omeparazole. Modify diet and lifestyle And you will feel better.
Good Luck S Khan
