My 13 Year Old Daughter Jumped Up (about 18-24 Inches)

My 13 year old daughter jumped up (about 18-24 inches) and landed on the side of her left foot. A large lump formed very quickly (just forward of her ankle bone on the side of her foot), and she said she heard a pop or crack. She was in a lot of pain initially, but we iced it and got it elevated and the lump is still there but is not red or purple - just normal skin tone. She can put weight on it without severe pain, but it is a bit tender to the touch. She said she doesn't need any pain relief. Our ER wait time is 7 hours so we decided to come home and have her looked at tomorrow. Will the foot definitely have to be x-rayed? We just hate to have to wait (we are in Ontario) for 7-8 hours if it's something that our Nurse Practitioner can look at and tell if it is serious. Thanks for any advice
