My 3Yr 9 Months Old Son Was Suffering From Cough , Cold & Fever, Please Help
Dear Doctor, My son 3Yr 9 months old was suffering from cough , cold and fever maximum was 102.5 for 1 dayand rest 4 days with fever ranging between 99 and 101. I had given him homeopathic medicines.Later we went to his paeditrician and the doctor had diagonosed throat infection, but chest clear and had given him an antibiotic. By the day end his fever had also subsided, as such we did not give him antibiotic. Now the problem is even after 10 days his cough is not clearing up and he is spitting slightly greenish cough. Shall i give him the antibiotic? Pl help.

well i guess you should have completed the dose for him ,but any ways if this is the problem try to visit the doctor and i think you can give the antibiotics because throat infection can not be cured with out medication .

You have taken wise step stopped giving homeopathy medicine and started antibiotic as you continued giving homeopaty medicines without giving antibiotics might had developed pneumonia and other life threatening complications.
You do not worry,after full course of antibiotic your child is ok.
Due to infection going into lower respiratory tract cough will remain for one week more and gradually it will be alright.
Continue some cough syrup for symptomatic relief.

What you have described is typically is called Post viral bronchitis.Post viral bronchitis normally comes with flu or cold and in most of the cases it doesn’t require medicinal treatment except symptomatic treatment with anti-tussives
