My 89 Year Old Mother Has Severe Spinal Stenosis, Which

My 89 year old mother has severe spinal stenosis, which has caused her to shrink about 4 inches over the last few years. She needs to walk with a walker now, but has been having sharp abdominal pain just below the breastbone. It hurts when she tries to straighten up or reach for anything. Could this be due to the compression of her body? She feels like she has so little space now between her stomach and chest.
