My 99 Yr Old Mother In Law Is 3 Hours

My 99 yr old mother in law is 3 hours away from us, but a nephew visited her today and called questioning why great grandma's skin looked so purplish on her arm and upper chest. We were with her yesterday and had a wonderful day, but she had shown us the state of her skin -pink to purple and itchy. She had fallen several weeks ago and had been taken to the ER. There were no breaks or obvious trauma evident and she was released with only Tylenol.
Her skin is like tissue paper! is there any lotion that we could apply that might help?
