My Breasts Are Really Tender. Small Period, Hot Flushes. Can Running Cause Irregular Periods?

Hi there,
Last period was normal and started on 16 April 2013. My breasts have become really tender and over the last two days i have had a small period coming and going. to be honest not much. In addtion i am 30 years old have been running over the last two months and have lost 1/2 stone over the last month. i have read that this can contibute to irregular periods. bit of hot flushes as well, but i would usually get that with my period. thanks

Yes, changes in physical activity and changes in weight can affect the hormonal balance and can lead to menstrual irregularity.
So if your spotting continues or increases you consult gynecologist once and get examined.
You may need hormonal pills to regularize the cycle.
If the spotting subsides early, you observe the next cycle if that is regular you may not need any treatment.
