My Doctor Put Me On BP Medication A Few Months

My doctor put me on BP medication a few months ago - amlodipine. Other doctor put me on diclofenac for stiff back. First doctor knew of 2nd doctor's prescription. In that time, my cholesterol has increased 30 points while I cut out red meat, started exercising, etc. Now Doctor #1 wants me to go on Lipitor. Seems like a lot of medicine. Does that sound like the best next step.
