My Eye Has Been Teary After Being Hit By A Book And Can't Stand The Light And Is Painful

I had lasik surgery three years ago. My son accidentaly hit me straight in the eye yesterday with a book. My eye has been teary ever since, i can't stand the light and it's painful. I feel better when i'm wearing dark sunglasses in the shadow, but in sunlight it's impossible to keep my eyes opened even with the dark shades. I didn't have this issue before the hit.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you had a injury by a book to the eyes following which you are having difficulty to open your eyes and pain in the eyes.
These symptoms indicate damage to cornea in the form of corneal epithelial defect. The treatment is by using antibiotic eye drops and lubricating agents.
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
