My Family Doctor Said My Tonsils Were Swollen Which In

My family doctor said my tonsils were swollen which in turn I had an inner ear infection which muffled my hearing. He gave me a prescription for the ear infection and told me to gargle with salt water to ease the swelling of the tonsils. It got my hearing back to 80% but is better but still muffled. Is there any supplement or drug I can take on a daily basis for the swollen tonsils? He had a name for the problem I was having, it was a long word that started with a B.
