Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My friend has just had surgery to remove a huge thymoma tumour that has spread to his spine splin lungs and part of the heart ( it is all a sole malignant tumour originally thought to have been many smaller ones around the thoracic area. Two incisions had been made through the 12 hour op as the doctors could not reach all areas through the chest cavity. The result was less than optimistic since they said that they weren't after all able to remove all of the cancer. He is now in intensive care and I would really like to know what his chances of survival are. Would more chemo kill the rest of it? Would doctors operate again to remove the rest of tumours? Thank you
