My Friend Is Suffering Terribly With A Burning Sensation In

My friend is suffering terribly with a burning sensation in her face, inside her mouth, down her trachea, hands, arm pits and chest. She has a nodule on her parathyroid, with high blood calcium levels. She is seeing a surgeon on April 28th but will still have to wait for surgery. In the meantime, the pain is unbearable at times. Does this symptom fit with hypo or hyper parathroidism? How can she get some relief?
