My Hemoglobin Is Not Increasing Even After Iron Pill
my hemoglobin count in only 118. my doctor said that i already have many iron in my body and ask me to take 2 tablets of folic acid 800 mcg for one month, then continue taking it one tablet a day for lifetime. its been 3 weeks now and my hemoglobin only increase at 118. i really need to increase now my hemoglobin. please advise what to do. thanks.

i believe its 11.8mg/dl..which is slightly less and definately it wont cause u major problems..medications will take a long time to improve your hb levels..eat red meat.poultry,beans,blackeyed peas,leafy vegetables,fortified bread and lentils..stop worrying and lead a happy life..god bless
