My Husband Had A Heavy Axle Fall On His Toe,

My husband had a heavy axle fall on his toe, & when he took his sock off, the toenail came with it. We went to the GP, & she treated it with antibiotics (before he had an x-ray to rule out fracture). The result came back stating no fracture. his wound site is still oozing & I wanted to know if there was anything I could safely put on it to stop this ooze? Maybe a betadine powder?
