My Husband Has A Knot/bump On His Right Bum Cheek

My husband has a knot/bump on his right bum cheek for a little while now, a few years actually. He says it doesn't hurt. It's more ingrown than present on the outside. It's about a couple of centimetres wide. I'm a bit worried about it because it doesn't hurt, he hasn't got it checked out. What could it be?
