Hi,
I read your query very carefully.

The best thing to do in your husband case is to live a healthy lifestyle. A balanced diet low in starch and animal fats rich in vegetal fats and proteins.

I recommend to walk 3-5 km a day and to exercise alot (aerobic and cardiac).

Hope this was of help!
