My Husband In On Methotrexate For RA, Allpurnol And Colchicine

My husband in on methotrexate for RA, allpurnol and colchicine for gout, high blood pressure meds and his SGOT is 79 sna SGPT is 109 and his Uric Acid was 5.6. T he doctor's office called today to tell us that he should see a gastroenterologist. I know the methotrexate can affect the liver. I guess I am concerned as to why the doctor would not take him off some of the meds and retest. He has never had a high liver count and he does not drink alcohol or smoke. Does it sound as though he needs a Gastroenterologist. Thanks for the advise.
