My Husband Sleeps In A Recliner Because Of His Back,

My husband sleeps in a recliner because of his back, and spends a good part of the day there. A while back he had sores on both side if his crack. I put antibiotic, etc on for about 2 months and they finally went away. Now they are returning. Within 2 days they are starting to look more like they are scabbing, but cause alot of pain. What can I do to ease the pain? I have been ptting antibiotics and ointment and vaseline on 2x daily, and it doesn't seem to help!
