My Lacrimal Caruncle Has A Yellow Like Scab On It And Is Itching. Required Treatment?

My lacrimal caruncle has a yellow like scab on it and it is really itching along with my whole eye I.e. Its gone red in various parts and I get a little discharge too (sometimes). Is there anyway of treating it and what do you think this is. Thank you.

Hi,

From what you said, it looks like blepharitis- infection / inflammation of lid margin. There two types- seborrheic and bacterial, that can be distinguished on examination. You can try cleansing lid margins 3 times a day using clean water and a soft cloth. If not getting down in 2 days, its likely bacterial for which I used to prescribe creams like azithromycin to be applied on lid. Your doctor will guide you.
