Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother had a stroke a week ago which paralyzed one side of her body including the throat and cannot speak. She was able to say a few words, although hard to understand, for five days following the stroke. She failed the swallowing test and previously chose no feeding tube. She is still with us but is sleeping all the time. She is being given morphine as needed for pain but how long can we anticipate her being with us?
