My Mother Had An Inverted Bottom Eyelid In Fact The

My mother had an inverted bottom eyelid in fact the eye lashes were rubbing her eye and causing it to be irritated. A local opthalmologist (sp) did a procedure in his office and put in 3 sutures to pull the eyelid down. He gave her an opthalmoic (sp) eye ointment that I have been using on the area right below the eye lid where the sutures are however her eye is really red on the inside and also the bottom lid is red. The instructions said to use it on affected area so I have not been putting it in her eye. Am I suppose to put it inside the eye?
