My Mother Is 90 Years Of Age And Has Just

My mother is 90 years of age and has just had a rectal tumor removed. She had a colostomy done and is now considering a reversal. What are the chances that she will permanently have diarrhea and anal sphincter failure considering that her tissues in that area are normal and that the rectal tumor was 7 cm from the sphincter area?
