My Nurse Practitioner Has Been Pushing Blood Work, And Is
My nurse practitioner has been pushing blood work, and is saying that my liver enzymes are high. I had a c-section in July, and was breastfeeding for 4 months. I'm 25 years old. In October my results were: ALT: 92 AST: 45 Alkaline Phosphatase: 112 In November: ALT: 73 AST: 45 Alkaline Phosphatase: 124 My nurse practitioner was not very informative as to what was wrong/what she was testing for; she just kept pushing more tests. After doing some research online... I read that a c-section could be the cause of these elevated enzymes. I just want someone to explain to me what exactly is going on. I'm worried because a member of her staff (receptionist I think) said that her husband is on a liver transplant list and his enzymes aren't as I high as mine. This obviously scared me and I just want some answers/second opinion. These two tests are the only ones I've had. She is also refusing to refill my prescription for adderall- is this reasonable? I feel like they aren't exactly extremely high, and I have only had 2 tests done... Is this a good reason to be alarmed? She ruled out hepatitis, test results were negative. Now she wants to do an ultrasound- and I'd much rather give it a chance to return to normal rather than be alarmed from the results of 2 blood tests.
