My Son Has Breadthing Problem,please Suggest
My son is 10 years old. He takes his breadth during sleep time keeping head tited upward directionand opening the mouth.Local doctor has informed that due to enlarged adrinoid gland that problem has arises. they suggesed to operate that gland.Some doctor told nor to operate the gland that will sink auomatically within his 15 years old. During sleep time sometimes he jurks his hand. Suggest me what sort of treatment is necessary

It is true that the Adenoids start regressing after 7 -8 years of age in 95% of the population. Get an X-ray Skull lateral view for Adenoids done. Some changes due to Adenoid Hypertrophy last beyond the regression of the Adenoids. We can start treatment with the X-ray report.
Hello, welcome to Healthcaremagic. Enlarged adenoids can lead to difficulty in breathing in children by blocking the nasal airway. The adenoid usually reaches its greatest size by about age 5 years or so, and then fades away by late childhood - generally by the age of 7 years. In some cases when adenoids are large enough to cause difficulty in breathing to large extent they can be removed. You must talk to your doctor and cosult about it. It can be decided only by examining the child and seeing its affects on health. Wish your child good health.
