My Son In Law Took A Couple Of Treatments To

My son in law took a couple of treatments to ward off cancer and they have affected his intestines. Now he has dirrahrea and throwing up. He has been in the hospital for a week now and can't get him regulated so he can go home. Is this a usual thing or what. Can you tell me anything about this. They are giving him also some drugs to calm him down since he is anxious to go home. Don't those relaxing medicines make your bowels work more ? Can you tell me anything?
