My Vagina Smells Fishy. I Am Using Copper T IUD For 7 Years

Hello doctor! I am from Philippines,am 31 yrs old..I am using Copper T IUD for 7 years...and I visit my OB gyne last 2008....do i need to remove my IUD, coz my vagina smells fishy and its so embarrassing?.....

Hi, it is because you may have an infection call "Vaginosis". It is causa by a bacteria Gardenerella vaginalis. Treatment : an antibiotic calls Metronidazol 500 mg every 12 h for 7 days is an option.
