Hello Ram Chattopadhyay,
For how many days have you take antibiotics by now , which antibiotic was you prescribed ? Upper respiratory tract infections are due to viral infection several times and antibiotics work when there is simultaneous/superimposed bacterial infection also. Please do not stop antibiotics in-between on your own, please take full course. Discuss with your doctor if antibiotic needs to be changed in-between to a stronger one. You can do hot water gargles & take menthol steam inhalation 2-3 times/day. Viral infections take 7-10 days to recover completely.
Wish you a speedy recovery!
