Need Analysis Of My 17 Week Pregnancy Scan

Hi im zen, 32 years old, weighing 152 pounds and 5-foot-5 inches tall. I am carrying my first baby and he is already 19 weeks now. I just had my ultrasound but the doctor have yet to discuss the results since I underwent ultrasound after my monthly check up. So i would be meeting my doctor next month. My ultrasound (which conducted on my 17 weeks) found out that I would be having a baby boy, I want to know whats the meaning of the doctors impression claiming: MALE, presently at cephalic presentation, with an estimated weight of 247grams (0 LB 9 OZ). Placenta, anterior, low-lying, Grade I maturity. Suggest follow up study?

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

You have low lying placenta.Placenta is situated in anterior region of the uterus near to internal os with grade I maturity.
In majority of the cases,it migrate away from the internal os with advancement of pregnancy. There is nothing to worry.
You should have follow up scan to detect the shift of placenta.
You should avoid strenuous activity and take adequate rest.

Other findings include presence of single intrauterine live fetus and fetal maturity is 17 weeks.
Fetal position at the time of scanning is cephalic(means fetal head is towards maternal pelvis). In early gestation, fetus keeps on changing its position due to small size and ample liquor.
Estimated fetal weight is 247 grams.

Hope i have answered your query.
Take Care
