1. since both kidneys are not functioning properly with low urine output thus one has to look out for Pre-renal/Renal and/or post renal cause of the same, but since you are undergoing dialysis which means that your attending nephrologist has gone through the possibilities.
2. while diabetes, creatinine and potassium level are major criteria for undergoing Dialysis in CRF [chronic renal failure], but Oliguria [low urine output], and hemodialysis is preferred in ARF patients [along with blood urea, serum creatinine, serum potassium, bicarbonate and pH]
3. make sure your blood sugar and blood pressure is in normal range, since the former can lead to diabetic ESRD [end stage renal disease] and latter to high blood pressure [nephropathy]
4.
. Take normal quantity of carbohydrates and fat.
. avoid potassium containing food like: tomato, fruit juice, coconut water, potato, chocolate, papaya, banana, grapes, cheese, and leafy vegetables.
. for calcium take plenty of milk, guava, fish.
. if serum creatinine increases, then protein intake has to be restricted.
. be in constant/regular supervision of Urologist or your physician and check with the tests periodically since kidney function can/may deteriorate unexpectedly.
. You may ask for prescription medicine like: yavkshar, shweta parpati, chandraprabha vati, gokshuradi guggul, chandan asav
