Need Help With Understanding Results Of Blood Work
Hi. 3 months ago i had a reactive results to both HBsAG and Anti-HBc IgM and with 26 units of ALT activity conc. Currently, results showed I am non-reactive to both HBeAG and Anti-HBs but reactive to Anti-HBE. What does the results speak of? Thank you so much.
Hi thank you for your question. The result means that it is an hepatitis B infection which is caused by a virus. It mainly affects the liver and its functions. But at present your ALT levels are normal but you need to be careful and have a regular watch on your liver function by undergoing liver function tests regularly at least once in 6 months or preferably once in 3 months. It is a transmittable disease from one person to another person through blood, sweat so it is adviced for your family members to undergo an Hbsag test and if they are negative then go for immunization. Please consult a nearby physician when needed
