Hello. I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto's about 4 years ago. I am not currently on any meds for it. But I'm now starting to experience a "full" feeling in my throat and sternal pain with and w/out swallowing. Is it likely this is related to thyroid issues?
hello you have not given us your thyroid function test. Hashimotos diagnosis is usually a combination of clinical and pathological. Your TSH level will say whether you require treatment. Any TSH level between 5-10 mIU/L does not require treatment unless you are pregnant (here the cut off TSH value is 2.5 mIU/L) or your antibody is positive with symptoms, then you have to consider treatment. or else if your TSH is more than 10, consider supplementation is reuired. The nonspecific symptoms of feeling fullness in the throat (globus) and aches and pains (fibromyalgia) are commonly seen in individuals with anti TPO antibody positive hypothyroidism
