Hi, I have been having my hair professionally dyed for 30 years but over the past couple of years, there have been occasions when my scalp was very itchy afterwards. I suspected that my hairdresser had not fully washed the dye away afterwards and so now they take extra care. Today I have had my hair bleached and within an hour I had to wash my hair several times due to severe itching and palpitations on the whole scalp, using baby shampoo. After 7/8 hours this has not improved any. Is there anything I can put on it?
Wash the hair & scalp with soap, shampoo to remove the excess dye that is causing the discomfort. Apply hydrogen peroxide.
You can take non-sedating antihistamines (Levocetirizine) to reduce the symptoms of allergy.
Use corticosteroid based shampoos to wash hair & scalp. You can also use Selenium or Salicylate based shampoo as it is both anti-bacterial & anti-inflammatory in nature.
Your symptoms should go away but you are suggested to visit a dermatologist to get physically examined.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
