Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband has been drinking for quite some time now straight whiskey I really think he is so depressed and my question is I think he is slowly dying lost 30 lbs he was already skinny ,bones protruding he has this smell about him and I have enough sense to know he needs to go to the er but he won t grows up I think his organs are slowly shutting down I did not realize this costed sorry to bother you can t afford it right now thanks
I think it is time to take some dire steps, given your husband's condition. If he is unwilling to see a doctor, take the help of family and friends to motivate him. Talk to him and find out if he has any fears regarding medical treatment. Many times, people do not know that alcohol can be given up quite easily with the help of medicines. If so, assuaging his fears and reassuring him will help convince him to quit alcohol.
Best wishes.
