General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

I would suggest you to take a urine pregnancy test if there was a sexual intercourse in past 2 weeks since pregnancy is the most common cause of delayed period in the reproductive age women.

Hormonal imbalance,Hypothyroidism,Anemia,Insulin resistance, severe dieting and even stress can cause delayed periods.

I would suggest you to take a pelvic ultrasound and thyroid tests to rule out the most important cause of hormonal imbalance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
