No Periods With Hot Flashes And Tender Breast And Nipples. Are They Pregnancy Symptoms?
I am 51 years old and have had no period other pre-menstrual symptons for 6 months. I started getting hot flashes all the time. My husband and I recently got back together after 6 month separation and the hot flashes have stopped, my breasts and nipples hurt, I am extremely tired and thirsty. My lower back started hurting and started feeling twinges in the vaginal area. Some cramps. This has been going on for about 1-2 weeks. Breasts and nipples are increasingly tender. I have had 3 ectopic pregnancies in my past. Could I be pregnant or just peri-menopausal?
It seems that you were experiencing menopausal symptoms for the past 6 months and have not had menses. To label as menopause, periods must be absent for atleast 1 year. Also erratic ovulation may occur during this period. Chances of pregnancy are extremely low. You said that you had three ectopic pregnancies in the past. Are the tubes still there or a has any other surgery like tubal ligation been performed on the tubes?
The most likely possibility is that you were experiencing menopausal symptoms and they have stopped now. This is a natural phenomenon. It is better that you get a urine pregnancy test done if it has been more than 3 weeks since the last sexual episode to rule out pregnancy.
