Nose Is Blocked With Yellow Discharge. Have Cough And Chest Infections. Took Antibiotics. Cure?
suffers from one nose blocked, cannot breathe through it. I took antibiotics to treat my cough n chest infections. But that was two weeks before. Still the infection persists. I am having yellow color discharge, when i snort or sneeze. What to do? I am in China, So cannot go n see the Chinese doctors, since I am not able to communicate with them. I have Azithral 500 3 tablets with me. Shall I take it?

Hi,
When are you returning to India? Your condition could be due to one of the following - Allergic nose discharge (sometimes even in allergy the discharge is yellow), or an infection. It is not ideal to treat you without proper ENT examination. If you have no way to reach out to a doctor in China I suggest the following;
1. Use for few days (5 days) an over the counter nasal drops (if available) called Otrivin nasal drops (Xylometazoline).
2. Even some foods can cause allergy. Avoid eating any food that you have not been comfortable which could include sea foods.
3. If you do not have fever, i suggest you avoid taking Azithral for the moment; at least for another two days.
4. Take a medicine such as Levocetrizine 5mg (in the night; as it could cause drowsiness) for the next one week.
